A refreshingly clear approach to your financial planning

All too easily!

All you have to do is to ‘take your eye off the ball’ and your dreams can crash to the ground. Most people fail to achieve their financial goals or ever achieve financial independence. They tend to push forward haphazardly with no clear direction, addressing their finances on an ad-hoc basis. They end up with a whole variety of financial products but have no overall plan.

The Reasons Why People Fail

  • No Plan
People fail to achieve their financial goals, not because they do not have the means or ability, but simply because they fail to plan.
  • Off Track
Those people with a plan tend to fall off track along the way through a lack of monitoring

Financial Stumbling Blocks

It is impossible to juggle your four financial spheres successfully if you trip over one or more of the 5 stumbling blocks that we have identified.

  1. No Goals The failure to clearly define what you want to achieve
  2. Inflation Few people appreciate the devastating long-term effect of inflation on purchasing power of their savings and investments.
  3. Risk A lack of understanding of the relationship between risk and reward with regard to investment strategy, and a failure to address the financial implications of a long-term illness or disability, or a premature death.
  4. Taxation A failure to utilise every legal means to minimise your tax liability now and in the future.
  5. Procrastination This is the main reason why people fail to achieve their goals in life. Putting everything off until tomorrow means you will have to put more money away, or take more risk, to achieve the same aim than if you started today.

We provide you with a tailor-made financial plan which sets out what you need to do in order to achieve what you want to achieve. Our on-going services will then help you to maintain your focus and provide the necessary expertise to overcome the five stumbling blocks, adapt to change and give you a much better chance of success.

All you have to do is to decide what your goals are in life and commit to take action in order to achieve them. Why not give us a quick call to talk it over?

Inflation can be frightening

  • A £1.00 note in 1971 had the same purchasing power as £10.60 does today.
  • What we call £1.00 today would only buy £0.09 worth of goods in 1971!

The effect of inflation on savers and investors is that they lose purchasing power. Whether you've kept your money under the mattress or it is sitting in the safest bank in the world, it is becoming less valuable as time goes on.

The only way to counter this is to invest to make your money grow at least a quickly as inflation. You also need to regularly review your investments and your financial targets. Above all, you need to feel comfortable with the investment risk you are taking. Helping you with this is all part of our service.

Time only goes one way

For any long term goal the money invested now is the money that has the longest time to grow. Sometimes people put off investing because they are waiting for "the best time" to invest. Trying to ‘time the market’ in this way is doomed to fail long term. It is ‘time in the market’ that counts. So invest now.

Procrastination has two major effects

  1. You may have to invest more or take more risk than you are comfortable with to acheive the same results.
  2. By putting things off you can miss out on important tax benefits. How many of us wish we had used our past Pension or ISA allowances?

Call us today and we will help to prevent time stealing your dreams.
