Ethical Investments
We offer the additional dimension of ethical investment advice because we feel it is often overlooked and that our clients should be aware of all the choices available to them. Some of our clients wish to invest in 'ethical funds' and some do not. It is entirely your decision. We simply give you the choice.
Why Invest in ethical funds?
Money itself is neither good nor bad. It is simply the means by which we exchange our skills, labour and material goods for those of others. However, money enables us to make choices, and the choices we make can have far-reaching effects.
When we look at the Social, Environmental and Ethical issues facing our world today it is easy to feel powerless and insignificant, but that is far from the truth. We all have the ability to influence the future in a positive way, and by arranging your finances in concert with your beliefs you can certainly help to create a future in which you will enjoy living, and one that your children will be proud to inherit.
Your wishes matter most
We have extensive experience of providing ethical investment advice over many years. We often find that new clients do not have any knowledge of ethical investing and so it is a subject that we bring into every new client discussion. That way you can make an informed choice.
If you wish us to take your Social, Environmental and Ethical views into account when making our recommendations we will take you through our ethical questionnaire so that all areas you wish to avoid, and those you wish to support, are clear.
There is no extra fee for advice on ethical investments.
Additional Risks
Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) does carry additional investment risk. This is because your adviser will have a reduced pool of suitable funds to select from and those funds will, in turn, have a reduced pool of suitable companies from which to buy shares or bonds.
Our approach to selecting ethical investments is otherwise the same as our standard approach.
