A refreshingly clear approach to your financial planning

Long Term Care

Arcaria Financial Solutions provides independent long term care advice to clients in Colchester, Essex and Suffolk. We can help you plan for your future care, and also advise on immediate care needs investment products.

We are living longer

Life expectancy has significantly increased and it is ever more likely that many of us will require some form of care in our later lives.

People often have to make quick and difficult decisions about their own or a loved one’s care needs. Thinking about the options in advance will help in the long run.

Care may mean care in the home, in sheltered accommodation or residential care with or without nursing care. State Benefits and Local Authority support may be available depending on your circumstances but self-funding will give you significantly more choice.

Choosing the most appropriate funding method for care fees having regard to your individual circumstances is essential. We have the specialist knowledge and qualifications to advise you and help you to make the right choices. Moreover, we will also take the time to consider your long term care needs in the light of other financial areas that might be impacted – such as your estate planning.

Failing health is not always easy to plan for and it can sometimes come upon us unexpectedly. Having a Lasting Power of Attorney in place is an essential part of long term care planning.

You may already be a carer, or someone in need of care right away, or you may be just beginning to consider the implications.

Powers of Attorney

power of attorneyYou should note that a spouse does not have the automatic right to manage her/his spouse’s affairs!

A Property and Financial Affairs and/or a Health and Welfare Lasting Power of Attorney may be advisable if long term care is being considered. You should take proper legal advice as well as independent financial advice if you wish to consider this.

Rest assured, we can advise and support both the donor and attorney when considering the financial implications of long term care.
